Credit Sequence- Chosen Genre

Credit Sequences - focusing on Indie Rom-Coms (chosen genre)

When we looked at the sequencing of titles from a mixed genre, the results very varied. The only common title order seemed to be the Distribution Company mainly came first. Whilst we were talking in our group about these findings we decided that maybe the titles were specific to the genre. Therefor we carried on our investigation into the order of titles, however we refined our search to our chosen genre: Indie Rom-Com.

The results we got from these films of the same genre were far more conclusive, and usefull to our investigations.

Evaluation

  • From my research into openings and titles I can deduce that most (8 out of 9) films start with the Distribution Company.
  • The 'casting by..' generally comes after the 'Cast' listings.
  • After 'Director of Photography', the 'Co.. and 'Executive Producers' are listed
  • In most cases the last title is 'Directed by..' or the  Film Title
These are just a few title sequence conventions that we have recognised and that we will encorperate into our opening.
